Donating Frequent Flier Miles

Unfortunately, we don't have a common pool where we can 'collect' donated frequent flier miles. But what we can do is book a soldier's ticket using donated miles, the donor has to have enough miles in their account to cover the entire ticket, which is usually about 25,000 for a domestic flight and 40,000-50,000 miles for an international flight. What we can't do is take 15,000 miles from one person and then 10,000 miles from another, and use them to purchase a 25,000 filer mile ticket.

So if you do not have enough to cover an entire ticket, we sincerely appreciate the thought, but alas can't use your miles. We do plan on setting up some sort of a central fund which will allow for partial donations, but for now it's all or nothing.

If you do have enough frequent flier miles to cover an entire ticket and would like to donate them, here's what you do. Fire off an email to info@lbeh.org and include the following information: Your Name, a telephone number to reach you (cell phone is great), the number of of miles you'd like to offer, and for what airline.

Then we do our best to match you up with a deserving troop, factoring into account the number of miles and those dreaded blackout dates. Which by the way, blackout dates have been really tough on us this year, which is why you don't see more frequent flier tickets booked. Once we pair you up with someone -- and in those rare cases where we just can't seem to put anything together -- we'll give you a call with an update.
